Nutritious Art for Young Children

Arts and crafts are a great way for young children to reinforce concepts learned of the ideas, how they explore new creative. Kind of time is also very enjoyable for most children, especially infants and preschool children. An art activity itself can offer a range of topics for a variety of teaching opportunities. These projects can be healthy part of a lesson on nutrition or as fun activities to initiate delicious that discussions onFood and good nutrition.

My Own Food Pyramid

On a large piece of poster board, draw a large triangle and divide it in a standard food pyramid with all five food groups and the fats and sweets part. Label each section with the food group names and the recommended number of daily servings. Let your child cut or tear pictures of food from magazines and newspapers, sales or use food labels. Stick the food pictures in the right group.

Cereal Necklace

String round cereal like Cheerios or Fruit Loops onto a piece of yarn. This activity is great for building fine motor skills in young children and can also serve as a fun and healthy snack!

Spaghetti is good for me

Dip cotton balls into brown and dry on wax paper to cool and drain while you cook spaghetti noodles. Glue the pasta is cooled to aStyrofoam plate. Paint sauce over the spaghetti with red color. When the paint dries, glue cotton on the meatballs. Do not eat this project and throw it away after 2 to 3 days, up to prevent mold.

Fruit and Veggie Painting

Slice a variety of fruits and vegetables cut into pieces and thick circles. Potatoes, apples, carrots and radishes are good for this project. Get creative and include celery pieces and various shaped pieces of pepper. Prepare paper on a child great art Easel. Diving will provide the veggie pieces in color and with a stamp on the paper.

Bugs on a log

Spread a celery with peanut butter and raisins on top with a healthy snack afternoon.

Colorful Toast

Mix a small amount of milk with food coloring and let your child paint a piece of bread with a small brush to get to present the bread too wet. Toast the bread, top with butter and let your child enjoy their masterpiece.

My Favorite Pizza

Paint a paper plate red and dry. Give your child a choice of pizza toppings like yellow yarn pieces for cheese, red circles for pepperoni, sausage and little brown tassels of green paper for green pepper. Spread glue on the plate and let your child glue on their favorite toppings. You can even sprinklewith oregano for a realistic smell.

A healthy breakfast

Cutting an egg container and make bacon and toast made from brown construction paper. Enter your child with dry cereal as well as glue and glue to the components of a healthy breakfast on a paper plate. Glue the egg container sections look for eggs and a paper cup with orange or white construction paper in it for juice or milk. Glue on the bacon, toast and cereal as well.
